another reason “friday night lights” rules: kyle chandler. he totally inhabits his role as the smalltown football coach, and i find both the character and his performance fascinating. the above scene is from the final episode of season 1, so spoiler alert, obvs, but it’s a scene that could have very well been incredibly trite: a wife telling her husband she’s pregnant.
only it’s not trite at ALL, it’s incredibly moving and well-acted, and connie britton deserves as much credit as chandler. her turn as the coach’s wife is equally nuanced and compelling, and i love any scene the two of them are in together.
