I grew up with you.
Well, not with you, of course. But, you’ve been there, poetry in your voices and soul in your melodies, to witness very important moments in my life. From 1994 to now, through births and through deaths, in triumphs and in failures, you have been here alongside me.
To say that I have been inspired by you would be an understatement.
You have shown that artistic vision does not need to be compromised, that paradigms can shift, and that talent, filtered through hard work, can lead to success. Most importantly, you have shown me that life should be spent cultivating passion.
In that spirit, when I learned that you were working on a new album, I decided then and there that I wanted to help you, in some capacity, to show my appreciation.
I’d like to design the next OutKast album, and all of the supporting promotional materials, as a token of my gratitude.
To demonstrate what I am capable of, I’ll use this space to post new art influenced by your work. Hopefully, these pieces will warrant the opportunity.
Thank you for everything.
Sincerely,
Sanithna Phansavanh

holy FUCK this would be INCREDIBLE.
You know that thing where you’re looking through your Flickr archives and are suddenly confronted with evidence of the night you were in Paris on a college art history trip and you and your roommate wine-drunkenly re-staged Le Grande Odalisque with a TV remote and the scarf you’d bought in Monmartre that afternoon? This is that thing.

Via Door Sixteen comes a tip that this guy now sells prints of his work, which Brooke turned me onto a while ago. Nice!
